Frequently Asked Dental Questions - Rockwall, TX
Quick Answers for Important Questions
Have a question about our practice or your care options with us? We’re more than happy to answer them, and you’ll find our responses to some of the most popular questions we receive every day below. Be sure to read over this page, and if there is something else you’d like to ask, go ahead and give our team a call.
When should I go to the dentist?
If you’re experiencing any pain or problems with your teeth, you should definitely schedule a dental visit as soon as you can, as early intervention is usually the best way to handle any issue. But, even if your teeth seem fine, it’s still smart to attend at least two checkups and cleanings each year. This gives us the chance to stop many problems before they begin and catch other ones that you might not have noticed so we can treat them right away.
Can I bring my child to McNew Dental?
Yes, and please do! We love treating growing smiles and showing them that dental care can be fun and not fearful. Our team is great with children of all ages, and we can even provide pre-orthodontic care to ensure that straightening your child’s teeth goes as quickly and smoothly as possible.
I have a toothache! What should I do?
Even minor dental pain shouldn’t be ignored, as it could be a sign of a serious dental infection. Contact us right away, and we’ll schedule you for an appointment ASAP. Before you’re able to make it to our office, you can take an OTC medication like ibuprofen or use a cold compress to reduce the discomfort.
I’m really anxious about visiting the dentist. Can you help?
Yes! Tons of patients feel just like you, and we’re able to calm them with sedation dentistry. This allows a nervous patient to get the care they need without having to deal with all that annoying stress! We can use it with adults and children alike, and you can learn more about it by giving us a call today.
Are store-bought whitening treatments the same as those in your office?
No! Most generic whitening products are very weak and can’t provide the kinds of results people really desire. If you want your smile to become six, seven, or even eight shades brighter, your best bet is to get a professional treatment with us. We’re able to use much stronger products and apply them in a way that will maximize your results with virtually no sensitivity.
Will you accept my dental insurance?
We’re happy to file claims for all dental insurance plans, but it should be noted that we are NOT in-network with any providers. This means that you have the ability to pay for services up front with the option for your insurance provider to reimburse you later.
Can I finance my dental care?
Yes! Our practice is partnered with CareCredit, which offers a wide selection of payment plans you can use to break up the cost of your dental care with little-to-no interest. You can sign up for a plan right through our website by clicking here.
